Until this year, the police department had been understaffed as a result of cuts made at the onset of the economic downturn. Since these cuts, our community has seen significant residential and commercial growth.
Michael supported filling long vacant positions, replacement of aging equipment and technology upgrades to allow our police department to more effectively protect our community. Additionally, through partnering with other jurisdictions, such as Pierce County and Fire District #5, we have in many cases been able to provide better services for less cost.
