Congestion along the Highway 16 corridor is a growing problem than has extended onto our local roads. Resolving this problem isn't something the City can do alone; it requires partnering with the State of Washington and Pierce County.
Through regional efforts and the West Sound Alliance, Michael and the City Council have been engaging with our State Senator and Representatives (along with those from neighboring counties) to secure funding to address these traffic problems. Michael will continue this ongoing effort as solutions are extremely costly. Additionally, the City needs to continue to move forward with smaller projects that have been identified to make our roads operate more efficiently.
